Unless you have been living under a rock, you’ve probably been eyeing up the Too Faced Sweet Peach Eyeshadow Palette. I, like many others, caved and brought it and never looked back since. Here’s my review…
For those of you who are unfamiliar with Too Faced; they are a cruelty-free cosmetics company specialising in lovely packaged and good quality makeup. This was a limited edition eyeshadow palette and when I’ve looked over the internet it doesn’t seem to be available anymore, however, if you head to your local counter they might be lucky enough to still have it. The palette is made of eighteen shades which I have been using separately or blending a couple of shades together.
One of the first things I noticed about the palette, other than the gorgeous packaging, is the scent of the eyeshadows themselves. The shades are infused with the juicy scent and antioxidant-rich essence of peach. As soon as you open the palette the scent wafts into the air that immediately puts me in a happy mood. Too Faced believe in the fact that makeup is so much more than applying a number of different colours to your skin. “It’s a mood booster and powerful ally.” The names of the shades are individual and inspired by summer and peaches, for example: candied peach, just peachy, summer yum and bellini. The colour range is unusual to any other palette that I own. It has a lovely mix of lights and darks, shimmers and mattes. They are also really good at blending to create the perfect smokey eye for any occasion.
The pigment is stronger on the darker shadows, however, that may just be my skin tone that makes working with the lighter tones a bit more difficult. The texture of the shadows are lovely. They aren’t chalky and don’t go everywhere like some of the Urban Decay shadows that I’ve used in the past. I’ve been using nectar, peaches n cream, caramelized and bless her heart on a regular day-to-day basis and I’ve opted for some of the darker colours for evening occasions. The eyeshadows aren’t tough to remove with a makeup wipe which makes me wonder how they are going to perform on a Summer holiday.
Overall, I love Too Faced’s Sweet Peach palette and think it is really good value for the money. I have loved experimenting with different colours and textures and I believe it is a lovely addition to my collection. Personally, I wish the palette came with a brush but it did give me an excuse to treat myself to some new makeup brushes as well. I’m definitely interested in trying more of the Too Faced makeup range too so if you have any recommendations on what I should try next then please leave me a comment.
Did you manage to get your hands on this palette? What’s your thoughts? Let me know what your favourite shade is in the comments below.

I feel well and truly spoilt to live in Whitley Bay. I think you can really take for granted some of your local landmarks when you have lived somewhere for a long time but after moving away from the North East and then moving back, I don’t ever feel anywhere else can quite match up. There are so many amazing places to eat along Park View and don’t forget the little independent shops to explore. It is home to St Mary’s Lighthouse and the Spanish City but also the most beautiful beach that is perfect to walk along when you want some time for yourself. During the Spring, seals use the rocks around the Lighthouse as a mating ground which I think is so special. There is even a Seal Group with local volunteers to help protect and take care of them. If you ever find yourself near the coast, I would pop into Pantrini’s for a good old chippy tea and if you can squeeze in a little tub of ice cream, you can’t beat Di-Meo’s Kinder Nutella Swirl!
Do you live near the coast? Is there anywhere local to you that signifies where you live?

I have always had sensitive skin but when I was told that I had eczema I refused to use the non-cruelty free creams that were prescribed to me by the doctors, instead I went on my own mission to find products that would reduce the redness and prevent scratching. I went through many disturbed sleeps due to how itchy my eczema actually became that I was determined to find a number of options that I can turn to during a ‘flare-up’ and to use on a daily basis. I thought I would share with you some of my favourites that may help you if your suffering from dry skin or eczema.
First up is all the lotions and potions that I think help any dry skin suffers. There’s a few that I have tested but these seem to have worked best for me. Dream Cream is of course my all time favourite. I have wrote an in-depth review on my blog but to summarise this is the one I turn to when I am having a flare up. The oat milk, rose water and chamomile oil calm down itchy skin. Oats are a natural ingredient to treat eczema and cool skin down and the rose water, cocoa butter and extra virgin olive oil are for added nourishment for the skin. This is the one I reach for in the middle of the night when I have woken up through scratching my eczema and it cools it down almost immediately. Another favourite of mine is the Bria Organics Relief Repair Replenish Skin Cream which is packed full of natural ingredients to replenish, repair, cool and ease the itch whilst protecting the skin.
Everyone enjoys a good old bath right?! Your skin doesn’t need to suffer either. Lush have a range of bath bombs that really help dry skin and eczema suffers which is really helpful for bath time. They may not be the fanciest at performing spectacular pieces of art in your bath but trust me your skin will thank you for the ingredients that you have used. Butterball is specifically formulated for dry, sensitive or irritated skin with cocoa butter and ylang ylang oil being the only ingredients. It’s also an excellent one to use to treat stress, depression and anxiety. Avobath is another favourite. Not only does it smell amazing with lemongrass and bergamot oils but the avocado and olive oil tackle dehydrated skin. This one has a lovely lustre which gives a glowing green effect to the water which looks beautiful. Finally, Ceridwen’s Cauldron is similar to Dream Cream but in bath bomb form. As previously described, the oat milk will work wonders on dry and sensitive skin by cooling the itch. Drop the muslin pouch into your bathwater and it releases the lovely, creamy oat milk into the water. Once it has melted, you can use the bag as a washcloth. The best thing about this one in particular is that you can use it multiple times like a bubble bar.
Last but not least is shower products and I swear by one product only when my eczema is extremely bad. Original Source’s Coconut & Shea Butter Shower Gel. This is my god send product for eczema and dry skin. I love it! Not only is it super cheap and moisturises dry skin but it smells as though you have just walked off tropical sands when stepping out the shower. I highly recommend trying a bottle if you deal with dry skin because this stuff is amazing!
Finally, I just wanted to let you know that there are a couple of things that can cause eczema and surprisingly it’s not just dry skin. Other factors could include: stress, bacterial or virus infections, being unwell (even if that’s just a common cold), heat and contact with irritants like soap or detergents. You can also find out more information on the British Skin Foundation.
I would love to know what your favourite products are if you have dry skin or eczema. Have you tried any of these products to see if they soothe your skin? What’s your thoughts?

I first heard of a Media Kit when I started getting emails from brands asking to work with me, however, the term gets thrown around a lot these days. I think it is important to have a Media Kit for you blog even if you hardly receive emails from brands and advertisers because you learn new skills that may be helpful in the future. You can save yourself from answering endless amounts of questions and it tells the brand that you take your blog seriously; think of it like a CV for your blog. For those of you who don’t know what a Media Kit (or a Media Pack) is, it is a document that explains what your blog is about and what you can offer brands and advertisers. It should include all the information they need to know, for example: statistics, content that you post and a disclaimer for your blog. I know that a lot of brands and magazines have something similar that shares the font they use, brand colours and readership/audience.
I created my Media Kit myself earlier this week and I really enjoyed creating it and learning new skills. I thought I would write this helpful guide for anyone else who is interested in creating their own. I used Becky Bedbug’s How To Create An Effective Media Kit For Your Blog which was extremely useful and I highly recommend giving it a read.
Your Media Kit should include:
Information about your blog – where you are based, your age, your blog genre
Content that you can offer – sponsored posts, social media advertising etc.
Your demographics – age, location, gender etc.
Disclaimer/Policy
Contact Details – blog name, website address, email and social media
Some other information you could include: information about yourself (your likes, perhaps why you started blogging), previous brands that you have worked with, an image of yourself, your most popular posts/videos.
Remember that first impressions are always important! I created mine in Photoshop but there are a range of different platforms that you can create a Media Kit on. Before you start, you want to decide on how many pages you want your information to be displayed on. I have tried to keep to one page but I know a lot of bloggers decide on two. After Jemma from the lovely blog Dorkface created my header, I wanted to remain consistent and decided to maintain my design and message with the brand of my blog. It could be as simple as keeping to the same colour scheme and using similar fonts as that which you can find on your blog. As Becky states: “try to make it fit with the overall look and feel of your blog“. Once you have created your media kit, it is usually better to save it as a PDF file. It can easily be shared without being edited by other bloggers who may want to copy it.
So, how do I get my Media Kit out there?
Honestly? This is something that I am still learning myself. I have started by uploading my PDF file to Google Docs and adding a link to my Contact Page so anyone who visits my blog has access to it. When a brand or advertiser emails me asking about the opportunities that I offer then I will be sending over my Media Kit. Perhaps when I feel more confident with my blog, I might send it out to some PR agencies and brands that are related to the content and value of my blog.
Finally, keep your Media Kit current. I am going to update mine every other month to reflect the statistics and the information is still current. If anyone is interested in creating a Media Kit and are looking for some help, feel free to email me.
Have you got a Media Kit for your blog? Have you got any tips?

Does anyone else think this week is going super slow? I was planning on writing an in-depth post about skincare but I just don’t feel like writing that, not today. It can be saved for another time when I have thought about the wording more carefully. Recently, I read one of Kathryn’s posts and it brought back many childhood memories that I just wanted to share with you. I thought it would not only cheer me up after a bit of a stressful week but it would be something fun to write and bring back some nostalgic memories for you to consider too.
There was so many amazing programmes on TV but my favourites were Tracy Beaker, My Parents Are Aliens, The Worst Witch, Arthur and Home Farm Twins. Please say that you remember these. Every time I talk to my friends about them, they can never remember watching some of them. Home Farm Twins was definitely my favourite though because the girls just wanted to save and keep all the animals without them getting hurt. I can remember running home from school just to watch them all.
McDonald’s Happy Mealsexcited me so much! I used to collect all the different toys that was in them and covered my bookshelf with them all. I remember that I needed to collect the whole set so I could keep them as a collection. I used to cry when my dad tidied my room because he would put them in a box under my bed. I always had the chicken nuggets from the meals but never had the chips! I just found them too salty. There was also a restaurant that had lovely truffle style chocolates that my dad used to get for free on Friday’s because my dad knew the owner. Although they were all gone by the time I went home…
Jacqueline Wilson books was so popular with the majority of girls in school and don’t get me wrong I used to buy them too, however, I never read a single one until Diamond Girls and Kiss came out. It’s probably because I really struggled to read and the teachers didn’t know until further into my education that I had dyslexia. It’s probably the main reason why I hated English and just sat making doodles in the back of my book during ‘quiet time’.
What did you do without internet and money? I used to go and play on the swings in the park with my friends. We spent hours down there and then came back once it started getting dark to have pizza before they headed home. I can remember playing with playmobil and making pretend families with all the characters. I spent hours sitting in a circle with friends playing on Bop It. Singstar, Guitar Hero and Ratchet and Clank were my favourite games on Playstation 2 and don’t even get me started on Nintendo. Did anyone else have Nintendogs?
Can you relate to any of these? Is there anything else you can remember about the early 90s? I think I could go on forever about them!
