Revolution Soph X Extra Spice Palette

Revolution Soph X Extra Spice Palette

When it comes to makeup everyone has products which is their weakness and for me that is a good old eyeshadow palette. There is just something special about lifting up the lid to see an array of untouched, shades of mattes, shimmers or glitters for you to experiment with no matter what the colours are. You may remember how excited I was when I finally got my hands on the Revolution Soph X Palette which I still use regularly, you can read all about it here. So when I watched Soph’s video about the her new collaboration with Revolution, I knew that I needed it in my life.

As you can probably see from the photos, the palette is heavenly and screams Summer nights. It’s a collection of 18 handpicked shades with a variety of shimmers and mattes that are suitable for everyone. Not only did the shiny rose gold packaging catch my eye but the price is super affordable for what you are receiving too. If you are creating a day time look there are plenty of shades to choose from however there is many shades to take your fancy when creating an evening look as well. It is just another palette jammed with a variety of different looks.

I’ve been playing around with the palette since I brought it and the pigmentation of the shadows is absolutely fantastic and the colours come off really bright and colourful. I feel as though the top row of shades are perfect for transitioning whilst the other two rows are for creating the eye looks that you are after. My favourites are definitely: Twenty One – cherry pink matte, Aurora – khaki green shimmer and Sweet ‘N’ Sour – electric orange matte.

Overall, I am highly impressed with this palette as I thought I would be. The pigmentation is fantastic and it is budget friendly for anyone looking to add a little something to your make-up stash.

Have you got your hands on the Revolution Soph Extra Spice Palette? What’s your thoughts?

Organic Shop Tropical Coconut & Shea Haircare Review*

Organic Shop Tropical Coconut & Shea Haircare Review*

If you’re the kind of person to deal with dry, frizzy but curly locks on a daily basis then you will probably understand that any haircare that contains coconut or shea is intriguing. You can obviously imagine my excitement when I heard about the Organic Shop haircare range exclusively available in Tesco and at www.organicshop.co.uk. I was kindly sent their Tropical Coconut & Shea Shampoo, Conditioner and Hair Mask to review. The range was made for dry and damaged hair as the coconut and shea are blended together to nourish the hair from root to tip.

As described by Organic Shop: “Organic coconut nourishes strands to leave hair lustrous and shiny, restoring damaged hair. Organic shea provides a boost of hydration to repair split ends and smooth frizz, leaving hair rejuvenated and revived.” I couldn’t wait to put them to the test.

The shampoo and conditioner come in 280ml bottles with a pushdown dispenser. This is definitely a personal preference but I definitely find this a lot easier to use than a normal bottle of shampoo and conditioner that you find on the shelves. They are mildly scented with the lovely, tropical coconut scent more recognisable than the shea. It leaves my hair smelling amazing as well as feeling nourished and soft. After drying, my hair looks super shiny and healthy.

I’ve been on the look out for a good intensive conditioner that was cruelty free for some time now so out of the three the Hair Mask is what I was excited to try the most. The pot is a decent size and you definitely don’t need to use a lot as the product goes a long way. The Organic Shop recommends applying the Hair Mask to damp hair and massage in before leaving for at least 2 mintues or longer depending on how intense you want the treatment. When I’ve rinsed the product out, my hair feels amazing! I’ve been using the products for a solid month and a half now and I can’t remember what my life was like without this haircare range in it.

The Organic Shop range is packed full of natural and organic ingredients in all of their ranges. There are no harmful microbeads, parabens, SLS, mineral oils or GMOs. They are against animal testing and have made all their packaging recyclable. It’s surprising to know that each of the products only cost £2.50 so the range is perfect for those on a budget too.

As well as the Tropical Coconut & Shea, they also have 4 other fun and fruity options: Argan & Alma to restore lifeless hair, Honey & Avocado for an intense moisture boost, Raspberry & Acai for a volumising boost and Pomergranate & Patchouli for extra strength and vitality. The Organic Shop also offer a range of body care including bath salts, shower gels, hand cream and various other skincare.

Have you ever tried the Organic Shop haircare range? I’m super intrigued to try the Body Soufflés next!

Nanshy Brushes*

Nanshy Brushes*

I’ve said it before and I will say it again – behind every perfect makeup application is the brushes that aided you to create that look. Seriously though, where would we be without them? I’m forever looking for new makeup brushes and cruelty free brands that offer them to help with my application so when Nanshy offered to send some of their brushes for me to try out I just couldn’t refuse.

I actually discovered the brand nearly two years ago when I started going cruelty free. Nanshy are based in the UK and 100% cruelty free. They specialise in makeup application tools using synthetic bristles which are made by hand and ensuring that each product is top quality before hitting the shelves.

I received seven brushes all individually packaged in clear and black packaging with useful tips in what products the brushes will work best with and how to use them. I pulled them all out of their packaging and the first thing I noticed was how soft the bristles felt as well as how lightweight they were. I was kindly gifted the white handle ones however there is also a choice of black if you prefer. The brushes I received are: Foundation brush, Concealer brush, Stippling brush, Contour brush, Large Shader brush, Tapered Crease brush and Angled Detailer brush.

I have had a couple of weeks to test them out with various different products and honestly I love them! The quality of the brushes is something that I just can’t get over. I’ve always used Real Techniques or Eco Tools so I didn’t really have anything else to compare them to. I have always used the Real Techniques Buffing Brush to apply foundation but I started using the Stippling brush to apply my foundation and I am now fully converted. It takes a little longer to buff it into your skin but the finish looks flawless and leaves a really beautiful finish. I have loved using the eyeshadow brushes for blending in my eyeshadow too.

If you are after some new makeup brushes, I recommend checking out Nanshy! Have you tried any of their products before?

Celebrating World Oral Health Day With Green People*

Celebrating World Oral Health Day With Green People*

We should all know how important oral hygiene is so when Green People asked if I wanted to help promote their Natural Smile Campaign across my blog and social media I thought it would be a brilliant time to share a little story with you that not many know about.

I’m on a next level petrified of the dentist and anyone talking about teeth. I can just about manage to brush my teeth and look after them without having a slight panic attack. However, over the past two years I have realised how important my oral health is. The FDI World Dental Federation has even created World Oral Health Day which is celebrated globally each year on 20 March. It’s a day that is aimed to spread messages about good oral hygiene in adults and children alike and how important it is in maintaining general health and well-being.

Personally I’ve never heard of the day until the lovely team at Green People emailed me and offered to send out one of their fluoride-free toothpastes. The date 20 March was chosen to reflect a number of reasons: seniors must have a total of 20 natural teeth at the end of their life to be considered healthy, children should have 20 baby teeth and healthy adults must have a total of 32 teeth and 0 dental cavities. This information expressed on a numerical basis can be translated as 3/20 hence March 20 – how about that for new information that you’ve learnt today!

Anyway your probably not here for facts and figures. Green People offer four different flavours of toothpaste: Minty Cool, Citrus and Aloe Vera, Fennel & Propolis and Mint*. They are all made with organic essential oils that all have excellent cleaning properties. The toothpastes are free from microbeads, SLS and are ideal for people with sensitive teeth and gums.

I’ve previously had the Minty Cool flavour and loved it so I opted for Mint. Similarly, the air bubbles that develop as you are brushing your teeth creates a lovely amount of foam without using any foaming agents that can be found in other toothpastes. From what I remember, the flavours don’t really taste much different however that may be due to both of them being quite a minty flavour. The Peppermint and Aloe Vera flavour is suitable for those that deal with bleeding gums and also certified by EcoCert with more than 89% organic plant ingredients in the formulation.

Your probably wondering how can you get involved in promoting World Oral Health Day? Well you could simply change your cover photo, frame on your social media profile or share memes across social media. There’s also campaign hashtags such as #SayAhh, #WOHD18 that you can use with your photos too. Go on ahead and share that beautiful smile of yours!

Have you ever tried Green People Toothpaste before? It’s became a staple in my skincare collection now!

Urban Decay Naked Heat Palette

Urban Decay Naked Heat Palette

Unless you’ve been living under the rock for the past couple of months, you have probably heard about the Urban Decay Naked Heat eyeshadow palette. I was lusting over it for months before I finally managed to get my hands on it as a Christmas present and I have been using it ever since.

The eyeshadow palette is completely different to the Naked 3 palette that was aimed towards those with fair skin whereas the Heat palette is the most dreamiest for those who are in love with warm toned colours. Personally, these are the tones that don’t just suit my skin tone the most but also the shades that I love to use daily. It’s quickly become a staple in my makeup routine. Similar to other Urban Decay eyeshadow palettes, they are pigmented really well, blend easily and are long lasting. I haven’t really used the brush that comes with the palette as I’ve been enjoying the Nanshy brushes which I’ll sharing on my blog soon.

Overall, I love the Naked Heat palette and would probably say that it is my favourite of the Urban Decay eyeshadow palettes that I have tried by far. The shades are amazing for those with olive/darker skin tones and can work during the day and evening to create a range of different looks although I’ve definitely got my eyes on the Naked Heat Petite too…

Have you got this palette? What’s your thoughts?

My Chakra Care Experience

My Chakra Care Experience

2018 is the year that I am going to say yes to more opportunities and that started with a back massage which is something that I’ve never had before. Kelly Jones, a massage therapist who runs an at home massage clinic called Chakra Care, kindly treated me to one of her treatments so I thought I would blog about my experience.

Kelly offers massages and relaxing treatments to her customers using crystal healing and products that are chemical free and safe. The products that Kelly uses are all natural, suitable for vegans and cruelty free, her favourite being Hemp Seed Oil which I talked a little bit about before.

This was a whole new experience for me and I didn’t really know what to expect but I thoroughly enjoyed it. As you walked into her massage room, it was calming and inviting with fairy lights, candles burning, Himalayan salt lamps and soft, gentle music playing in the background. She made me feel so welcome and relaxed from the moment I entered her home.

I was lucky enough to have the Back to Bliss Massage which is described as an invigorating back massage that focuses on back, neck and shoulders which works deep into stiff, tired and aching muscles to instantly release pain and tension at the same time as easing a stressed mind. She went out the room and asked me to take the top half of my clothing off and go in between two towels. Unusually, I felt extremely comfortable which I didn’t think I would. When Kelly started with the massage, I didn’t know what to expect but she was so gentle with me and asked whether the pressure was enough really early on. As the massage went on, I closed my eyes and tried to relax my mind and just think about my breathing to help me unwind. When it was all over, she placed the towel over my back and told me to get up in my own time as she brought a glass of water through.

Overall the experience is one that I could only describe as relaxing and unwinding. If you have never experienced a massage before then I highly recommend giving it a go yourself. It gives you a couple of minutes to just think about you and nothing else which I believe everyone needs from time to time.

Have you ever had a back massage? What was your experience like?
