An Afternoon In Warkworth

An Afternoon In Warkworth

Hey guys! Last week I took my camera around Warkworth and took quite a lot of photos. I love going to Warkworth for a walk. It’s always so good for nature photography and capturing the beauty and patterns of the flowers. The Summer is usually spent with the family taking a picnic that mostly consists of strawberries, crisps, falafels, mini sausage rolls and a good old jam doughnut followed with a walk around the river. If we don’t have enough time to make a picnic before setting off then our usual food spot is the Mason Arms where dogs and muddy wellies are allowed. Whilst you are there I highly recommend making a trip to Gray’s which is an affordable fashion accessory shop that sells the most gorgeous jewellery and a range of bags and scarves. I thought I would share with you some of the photos that I took this week.

Have you ever been to Warkworth before? Let me know where I should explore next.

The Christmas Tag

The Christmas Tag

I saw this on Becky’s blog thee other week and thought what better way to get into the festive spirit than with the Christmas Tag! Feel free to copy the questions and answer them too, I would love to know your answers as well.

What is your favourite Christmas movie?

There are so many to choose from: The Santa Clause, Prancer, Santa Who?, A Dog Named Christmas, The Polar Express…but of course, my favourite is definitely Elf!

Do you open your presents on Christmas Eve or Christmas morning?

Always on Christmas morning! I just think any presents other than new pyjamas should be saved until the morning. I don’t really know anyone who opens presents on Christmas Eve. Who else thinks that receiving new snuggly pyjamas on Christmas Eve is the best thing ever?!

Do you have a favourite Christmas memory?

I remember one year spending Christmas in York with the family. I can’t remember what we did on Christmas Day but we stayed in a hotel and both me and my cousin got the Nintendo Gameboy Advance with Harry Potter and the Philsopher’s Stone game. I received a gorgeous pink transparent one and very quickly became obsessed.

Favourite festive food?

I am not really the one for Christmas dinner but I love having a box of chocolates to share around Christmas time. Chocolate fingers on Christmas morning are the boss too!!

Favourite Christmas gift?

I can’t remember how old I was but it was when I received baby Annabell. I used to take her everywhere with me. I remember having all these different outfits for her, a bed which used to be next to mine for her to sleep in and a pram to take her out to the shops and things. I pretended that I was her mum for so long because I wanted to have a baby sister.

Favourite Christmas scent?

There’s nothing better than the smell of a fresh Christmas tree or freshly baked cookies, yummy!

Do you have any Christmas Eve traditions?

I used to put carrot sticks, whiskey and biscuits out for Santa and his reindeer when I was younger but now II just tend to relax with various films, the fire and endless amounts of hot chocolates and cookies.

What tops your tree?

It’s usually an angel or a star. The angel is one from my Grandma. It used to be on her Christmas tree so it feels more special, she has her own wand too.

As a kid, what was the gift you always wanted but never received?

Every year after writing the famous ‘Dear Santa’ letter, I always added that I wanted guinea pigs. I used to come up with names and everything. 21 years later I still haven’t had my guinea pigs…one day, eh?

What’s the best part of Christmas for you?

Spending time with family and friends, giving presents to loved ones, getting to wear all the glitter and sparkle everyday, sharing happy moments and the excitement in the run up to Christmas.

North East Blogger Awards

North East Blogger Awards

Isn’t it amazing how blogging has really taken off recently?! Being from the North East and such a new blogger myself, it doesn’t give me that much of an opportunity to introduce myself to network with other bloggers until saw the #NEBloggerAwards being advertised on my Twitter feed. Not only was it good for my introverted personality to put myself out there a bit more, it allowed me to build on my confidence and meet some wonderful people from the blogging community and network. After all, that is what my degree is all about. I went with the lovely Laura.

The night was held at Lane7 in Newcastle by OPR, one of the North East’s largest PR companies, and my god they did an excellent job. There was some nibbles, drinks and various entertainment, not forgetting the goodie bags we received at the end. However, the main reason of the event couldn’t have been forgotten. I wasn’t shortlisted for an award but it was great to see some oof the amazing talent which we have as a region!

I would like to say a huge congratulations to Carly from Beauty Sauce, Katie from Blonde Ambition and Tasha from Hello Freckles whose blogs I enjoy reading. All three girls are such an inspiration to all of us North East bloggers.

It’s Wedding Time!

It’s Wedding Time!

I can’t believe it’s been nearly two weeks since my sister got married. It still feels all a bit surreal. I was a bridesmaid along with three of her best friends. The weather stayed clear all day which was perfect for taking photographs and getting some fresh air. I enjoyed spending the weekend with family and friends so I just wanted to share with you some moments from the day with you. I have tried to pick a few of the less personal ones, hope you don’t mind.

This is the first wedding I have ever been too and I loved everything about the whole day. My sister looked stunning! All her personal touches just made the day and the venue extra special. It was nice to see everyone’s hard work pay off too. The wedding favours were handmade cake pops, the three tiered cake was also handmade by non other than my sister herself and the whole family opened up their creative side with making personalised tea candle holders. Everything just looked amazing!
