Yaoh* is a UK based company, founded in 2002, who use hemp oil in all of their products. Hemp Oil is used within skincare for two main reasons; it is a natural moisturiser especially useful for dry, tired or dehydrated skin, hair and nails and it helps to improve skin hydration and oxygenation. They offer food products and an extensive range of body and haircare ranging from lip balms and shower gel to shampoo, conditioners and body butters all available in exciting scents. All of Yaoh’s products are 100% vegan and free from animal testing, and their food range is 100% certified organic.

The brand very kindly sent me some of their products to try and review so naturally I’ve been trying them out over the past couple of weeks. Now that I’ve developed my own opinions, I thought its about time I shared my love for them. They sent me: Deep Forest Moisturiser, Original Body Butter, Tropical Fruits Bubble Bath, Caribbean Breeze Lip Balm, Coconut & Lime Shower Gel, Tropical Fruits Shampoo and Summer Breeze Conditioner.

The shower gel and the bubble bath were the first two products that I used up out of the selection of products that they sent to me. I’m in love with the shower gel that I received and have since repurchased. It lathers up really well and has left my skin feeling nourished after stepping out the shower without even applying moisturiser. The bubble bath smells like those classic Fruit Salad chews that you used to get within pick ‘n’ mix counters at Woolworths. It doesn’t create as many bubbles as a bubble bar from Lush would however the scent lasts for such a long time and I can usually smell the fragrance on my skin when I’ve got out the bath.

The body butter is one of those staple products that you should have in your skincare collection especially if you have dry skin. I’ve had eczema ever since I was taking my GCSEs and have tried a range of products to help improve and, hopefully, clear it especially when I am feeling stressed. Apart from E45 cream that is unfortunately tested on animals and my beloved Dream Cream nothing else has worked however this has helped on the days it hasn’t been as bad during a flare up. The formulation is thick and creamy but leaves your skin feeling nourished and moisturised. One of the things that I look for in a body butter or moisturiser is how fast the product dries as there is nothing worse than standing in your underwear waiting for it to sink into the skin. Luckily enough the body butter dries extremely quick which I love. I’ve not had the chance to try the moisturiser properly yet however the scent is so unusual compared to anything else that I’ve had before so I am excited to give it a try. The best way I can describe the scent is earthy and natural, a perfect unisex moisturiser if you are in the market for a new one.

The shampoo and conditioner has been my favourite combo of products that I have tried from the collection. My hair usually feels pretty dry and damaged when I’ve not gone for the dreaded hair cut regularly however this combo has changed that. My hair feels so soft and looks healthy too. As well as being organic, cruelty free and vegan, the formulation doesn’t contain parabens or sulphates which is better for your hair. At first, I didn’t think it would be so effective on my hair due to how thick and curly it is however I’ve had no problems. Unlike other shampoo and conditioners the formulation doesn’t lather up which is one of the reasons why I didn’t think it would be as effective as it is. I follow it up with the Umberto Giannini No More Frizz Serum and my hair feels amazing!

Finally, the lip balm has become a handbag staple. I don’t use it as much now in comparison to when I was at University and during the Winter months however this is a little god send. It is so moisturising on the lips and leaves them feeling super soft and plump. It has also helped with my cracked lips during the Winter too. Beeswax is an ingredient often found in many lip balms however Yaoh have created a formulation without this in. Did I mention that the scent is amazing too? I have more recently picked up their Coconut scent which is just as good.

As well as the products that I’ve mentioned above, you can also buy: suncream, hemp oil and hemp seeds. You can shop all of their products on the website or find your local stockist. As you can see on the website, the prices are extremely affordable as well which is perfect if you are on a budget like myself. Have you ever tried Yaoh before? What’s your thoughts? Is there anything that you’ve got your eyes on?
