If you are a long term reader of my blog than you’ll know I’m a massive fan of the Gosh X-Ceptional Wear Foundation. It’s been one that I’ve steered back to time and time again however there might just be a strong competitor. The Elf Flawless Finish Foundation has been my base staple since I brought it at the back end of last year.

I’ve always wanted to try the product range from Elf but I’m the type of person who likes to swatch things on the back of my hand before committing to buying it and well the Superdrug stores in Newcastle were a bit hopeless when it came to stocking the brand. This all changed when I found out that there was a massive Elf stand for me to spend a good hour browsing, swatching and testing out all their products at my local Superdrug store. In all honesty, I was like a child in a sweet shop for the first time. Anyway, your probably here for the review and not me rambling on about how much I’ve wanted to try the brand.

At first I was a little bit skeptical because the formula is mentioned in the packaging as being lightweight however I am in love! This base is fantastic at restoring uneven skin and tones. It honestly leaves my skin looking flawless which was the reason I was on the hunt for a new foundation in the first place because I wasn’t really noticing the flawless complexion as much as I used to. The quality of the formulation feels luxurious and a lot more expensive than what it actually is.

For a foundation that is advertised as lightweight, the coverage is just on another level. It doesn’t feel as though it is caked on the skin which is what I was a little bit nervous about. If you follow me on Twitter, you’ve probably heard me numerous times complain about my under eye circles but even without concealer, this foundation does a fantastic job of decreasing the colour tone of them. Can I also just mention that there is such a good colour range as well?

Overall, my first impressions of the Elf Flawless Finish Foundation are exceeding my expectations. It’s been such a brilliant base to use on my skin during the colder months and I feel like it will became quite a staple in my makeup collection. I probably could have got away with a lighter shade however it doesn’t look too bad on my skin when blended out.

Let me know what your favourite Elf foundation is!
