I don’t think I have ever done a yearly beauty favourites but 2016, for me, was a brilliant year for finding some really great beauty products that I will continue to buy over and over again! From skincare and haircare to fragrance and palettes, here’s my list of the best…

I have never tried a cleansing butter until I finally forked out the money to buy The Body Shop’s Camomile Cleansing Butter. This has been raved about so much in the blogosphere that I had high expectations. Once I tried it, I knew that it was going to be a staple in my daily skincare routine. This is an absolute god send and if you haven’t tried it, then I urge you too at some point this year. It melts off your makeup leaving your skin feeling soft and clean. I have really dry and sensitive skin but this doesn’t affect it which I think is brilliant.

The GOSH X-Ceptional Wear Foundation has been a long term favourite of mine. Whenever I am looking for a new foundation, I always seem to go back to this one. It’s affordable for anyone on a budget and it can be built up on the skin. It’s the one I turn to when I want a light coverage during the Summer but also the one which is there for me when I am having a hormonal breakout every month. I know a lot of other girls in the cruelty free beauty world uses the same foundation and speak highly of it as well.

If there is one brand I have fell in love with this past year, it’s The Library of Fragrance. I am literally addicted to their colognes. My particular favourite is the Pistachio Ice Cream scent; this is actually my second bottle because I am OBSESSED! I love the nutty but sweet scent of the fragrance, it settles on the skin really nice and it’s one of those perfumes that you constantly get compliments on throughout the day too!

Last year was the year that my palette collection has doubled tripled – I know, I know – it’s pretty bad. I can’t help but share three of my favourites, the first is the Too Faced Sweet Peach Palette. I have never had anything from the brand before but I was so eager to try their eyeshadow shades out that I just had to pick it up. Not only does the palette smell of peaches but the shades are gorgeous! I went through the majority of the Summer when this was all I used. I particularly like Nectar, Candied Peach and Bellini – I think all three work really well together but also with different shades both in the rest of the palette and other palettes in my collection.

Another favourite palette from this year was the Urban Decay Full Spectrum Palette. I am not usually one for colour but something that I learnt from one of the Lush Kitchen live shows is to experiment with colours, hence the reason for buying the palette in the first place. This colourful gem quickly grew on me and still to this day, I love experimenting with all the different colours within the palette. Iced is surprisingly such a lovely highlight colour whilst I have used Bump in the inner corner – it brightens up the eyes, no matter what look you are deciding to go for. I do prefer the warmer colours in the rather than the blues and greens but I think that’s just because they go with my skin tone a lot better however I do like using a mix of them overall.

The last palette I wanted to share with you, is the Makeup Revolution Ultra Blush Palette in Hot Spice which has a range of blushers and a highligher. My particular favourites is the darker orangey shades as they give my cheeks the most colour. If there is one thing that Makeup Revolution do get right, it’s there highlighters. They brighten up my face so much and are the perfect addition to any evening look. I only really got into blush this past year but I am so happy to have this palette in my life because there is such a wide range of shades.

When I found out that ColourPop was cruelty free and offering free international shipping, I couldn’t wait to take advantage. After ordering a range of different lipsticks, my favourite and most worn has been the Lippie Stix. Where do I even start?! They are so easy to apply, moisturise the lips and the colour lasts for hours. I have brought many lipsticks since and none have lived up to the same standard as them. I treated myself to three shades – Grunge, LBB and I Heart This but Grunge is my favourite because it is a lovely chocolatey brown which goes with absolutely every look, day or night.

Another skincare favourite has to be the Terre Verdi GoodOils Cleansing Oils. I have been searching for a cruelty free cleansing oil ever since my DHC ran out two years ago. Not only does this smell like a box of freshly opened Quality Street tub but it works a treat. I have started using the oil every week and my skin really thanks me for it. The formulation removes every impurities underneath your skin however it also leaves your skin feeling super soft and moisturised.

I have tried many haircare combos in 2016 but nothing lives up to the Urtekram Coconut Shampoo & Conditionerthat was kindly gifted to me. They are natural and organic haircare products that are suitable for vegans and not tested on animals. Infused with organic virgin coconut oil and coconut nectar which help to moisturise, nourish and revitalise the hair. I can’t wait to try out more products from the danish beauty pioneer, Urtekram as they have a wide range of toothpastes, hand creams, soaps, crystal deodorants, skincare and haircare in a variety of natural scents.

It’s no secret that I have been a massive fan of the Lush Kitchen and I highly believe this will continue through to this year as well. There customer service team is fantastic and they produce products that are so exciting and unique. I have a wardrobe full of polaroids, two t-shirts and a jumper that I love wearing and have featured many of their products across my Instagram. If an old favourite was discounted from the original line, it might be worth checking out the Lush Kitchen as they sometimes sell them; this one pictured was the oh-so-famous Phoenix Rising which has such a relaxing but refreshing scent thanks to the bergamot, cassia and jojoba oils. It also has shea butter which helps those with sensitive and dry skin.

Overall, a seriously good year for finding new brands and products that I love! Have you tried any of these cruelty free gems?
